Professor Ravinay Bhindi is an Interventional Cardiologist and the Head of Cardiology at Royal North Shore Hospital. He holds MBBS and PhD degrees from the University of Sydney, and completed further interventional cardiology training and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Oxford.

His clinical practice focuses on complex coronary interventions and structural heart disease, including percutaneous valve therapies. He is the Head of Clinical Trials and Structural Heart Disease at both Royal North Shore and North Shore Private Hospitals.

Professor Bhindi maintains active research programs, with publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include improving outcomes for patients undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and investigating the cardiovascular complications of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

With support from Heart Research Australia, Professor Bhindi is currently researching the effectiveness of extended cardiac rhythm monitoring after TAVI to detect and prevent delayed heart block, thereby improving patient outcomes and reducing hospital readmissions.
