Heart Research Australia is a charity that funds first-and early-stage innovative research projects that aim to find improved ways to fight heart disease. Our vision is a future without heart disease.
We know that research saves lives. Here’s proof.
In a trial funded by Heart Research Australia, cardiologists at Royal North Shore Hospital used stents as an alternative to clot-busting drugs for the immediate treatment of heart attacks.
At the same time, they started with a new protocol to assess and triage patients in the ambulance. Using ECG diagnosis and transmitting the results directly to the hospital, saved precious time from incident to treatment.
The combination of early triage with the use of stents to copen coronary arteries reduced death rates from heart attacks at Royal North Shore Hospital from 30% to just 2%. This is now standard practice in hospitals around Australia and saved many precious lives.
First and early-stage research does not often qualify for government funding, so we rely on kind supporters like you. Your legacy can help our researchers turn more innovative ideas into reality. Together we can reduce the devastating impact of heart disease.
If the time is ever right for you to remember a charity in your Will, please consider Heart Research Australia.
