Cardiologist and supporters tee off for heart research

On 24 August a group of supporters and cardiologists teed off for heart disease at our inaugural fundraiser golf day at the beautiful Avondale Golf Club.

It was a great day on the course – the sun was out, the dew was burning off the fairways and birds were bursting forth with a cacophony of song. The competition winners from Marsh Brokers were grinners and by the end of the day much needed money was raised for heart research.

Over lunch participants heard from Foundation research and cardiologist, Dr Gemma Figtree, who inspired the audience with a talk on current research projects, future endeavours and the potential of these to improve community health.
