The Foundation honours its major benefactors

16-07-2009

On 25 June, the Foundation thanked its key benefactors for their generosity, at a special event in the Kolling Building, Royal North Shore Hospital.

In 2008 supporters gave over $375,000 to purchase equipment for the new heart research facilities in the Kolling Building.

During the event, the Foundation unveiled an honours board to acknowledge benefactors who gave over $1,000 in the 2008 calendar year.

In a speech to guests, Ray Knight, Foundation Chairman, said that the support of benefactors is not something the Foundation takes for granted.

‘These new state-of-the-art facilities are opening up previously unimagined possibilities, and would not have been possible without our supporters,' he said.

Following, Professor Stephen Hunyor, Foundation Director, researcher and cardiologist, said ‘your names on our Honour Board will be testimony to the sustained generosity of our community and friends. It also serves as a legacy to the leadership of the Foundation who leverages this support for optimal benefit.'
